I choose these sources because it shows statistics about my topic. It mentions about the two ethnicities that I’m going to write about, which are Dominicans and Puerto Ricans. In one of the sources its mainly about Puerto Ricans. The article “Hispanic and Latino identity is changing” gives me several topics to write about, which is something I find useful because I have many options. According to Lopez, he stated that the word “ Hispanic” were for the group of Puerto Rican’s, Mexicans and Cubans,etc. The term “Latino 40 years back wasn’t used or known (Lopez). In the second article it mentioned how the Puerto Rican population decreased with a percentage of 11.2%,while the Dominican population increased by 8.2%(Morales).
