My research topic question

Its was really hard for me to come up with a topic for my research paper because none of the options seemed interesting to me or I felt like I could not get much information, I feel that as more interesting to me is the question the better is going to be my paper. After thinking a while I came  with "How does the bear arms right has been changing in New York from when the USA constitution was written to the present." I was thinking about the amount of time that I should base my question in but, I feel that if I base it from when the constitution 2nd ammemdment was written I am going to have more information to talk about and it would be much more interesting to me because I really like history.
