Research Topic

NYC Education

For my research paper, I would like to discuss a topic regarding education in New York City. I am unsure which topic I would like to discuss, but propose the example topic “Are charter schools better than traditional public schools?” or “Are our High Schools preparing our student to be college or career ready?”. Both topics interest me because I believe they are important. I really don’t understand the difference between charter and public schools and I’m sure many others are unfamiliar as well. I would also like to consider the effectiveness of our education system. I am product of a public high school education and can attest to the lack of readiness I experienced moving into a college level courses.
