Can you imagine traveling to school on the train with your best friend from junior high school, talking about weekend plans not having a care in the world not even about last night homework. Then all of a sudden all you can hear are passengers screaming trying to run pass you to get to safety, knocking others to the ground, but just before that you thought you heard a bomb explode but you just can't be sure.
This was the fifth terrorist attack in British for the year. The bomb was wrap in a plastic grocery bag and placed in a bucket. It was set to go off during the morning rush hours but thankfully the device did not detonated properly. So no lives were lost, one passenger was badly burned and quite a few where stampede that led to injury. The train was pack with passengers some recalled hearing the loud boom and feeling the heat on their face, and the panic because they couldn't move to safety. While the commuters waiting on the train proceed to start running and trample the other commuters.
Combating terrorism is no easy task, these attacks in London and Europe are cowardly acts that are done by extremist to scare the public to see their way of thinking, but Londoner are not going to give into that fear. They are determined to defy terrorism at all cost, it will be a long and dangerous struggle.
Getting citizen involve is another key in helping with getting terrorism under control. Citizen can report what they see and hear to the authorities. Developing community relation within the Muslim community. Also too is to understand that the terrorist will attack your country, and you must know the strategy of when and how they will attack. So they will not be successful in there attempt.
Counter terrorism has 2 aspect make the citizen safe by screening airline passenger, placing video camera and metal detectors in public places, bomb sniffing dogs and random patrols. Next arresting, prosecuting terrorist extremist, along with raiding terrorist facilities and assassination of top Jihad and Al Queda official.
If these measure weren't in place, I would hate to think of what the world would be today. No lives were lost this time, and we may be hardened against terrorism and will not stand to feel unsafe in our home, but when these attacks happen we never feel safe again. As the head of security states "you can't do much to keep it safe, because that's the nature of things that are open" referring to the train (tube) just continue to defy all threats of terrorism and stand united to the world.
