                  I feel that I have found lots of source material regarding my research topic, however, the most surprising fact that I uncovered about my topic was about Jay - Z's parents. His mother's name is Gloria Carter who worked for an investment company as a clerk. Jay - Z's father's name was Adnis Reeves who left the family when Jay - Z was just twelve years old. Jay -Z told Vibe, "To me, that was basically the end of our relationship". The relationship with his father served for many of his songs in which Jay -Z forgave his father for abandoning his family in 2003, just six months prior to his father passing away from a liver ailment.
