Have you ever imagined about severe natural disasters
caused by climate change?
When I read the article of “How Hurricane Irma became
so huge and destructive” in the New York Times, I believed that this article is
a serious enough topic to discuss about the natural disaster through the
climate change.
According to the newspaper, we may know that the storm
hurricane Irma hit Florida last week. In this article said that hurricane
Irma smashed into the Florida, leaving extensive damage in the upper and
middle sites. The deadly storm has damaged or destroyed about 100,000 homes, as
well as more than 40 sites that released hazardous pollutants because of the
storm hurricane Irma. In this regard, a research meteorologist in this article
states that natural disaster, like this hurricane activity, can be affected by
the climate change due to global warming.
Of course I obviously agree with the statements
because the global temperatures continue to warm due to climate change, the
number and intensity of extreme events can be increased. As emissions of
greenhouse gases continue to trap more and more of the solar energy which has
to be dissipated, it is resulting in a variety of climate change which can cause
stronger storms, more intense precipitation and, higher winds. In this faced
social issue, I believe that this source was very persuasive because it could
be reminded us of awareness and gave hard facts that this way we are going is
very serious in aspects of attitude toward the nature.
In conclusion, I realized a lot of things my opinions
through this article. These acts of nature cannot be completely solved by human
power, however it is possible to slow down the process global warming to
protect various severe natural disasters. We need to figure out the ways to
curve the global warming phenomenon. It should be considered for global warming
that not only the establishment of rules and regulation internationally but
also making effort individually in life, can act as a life preserver for our
planet. We, as a society, must do everything in our power to preserve the
delicate balance of nature.
